The call for papers for both DeepSec and DeepINTEL is still open! We are looking for original content, your creative ideas, and your invaluable experience. Please submit your proposal to our CfP manager.

As always, we have a variety of topics we are interested in. The wonderful world of „artificial intelligence“ has taken the world and its CO2 output by storm. Large Language Models (LLMs) have „learned“ the Internet multiple times. Companies offering their LLM-based services promise to solve all kinds of tasks. What does this mean for IT security?

Disinformation and propaganda are a big topic. Europe has already seen elections where structural disinformation played (and plays!) a vital role. Using false information in order to influence the voting behaviour is part of nation state attacks. The latter topic is of key interest here in Austria, because Putin has already hijacked the Austrian spy service with help from a political party. All content touching topics like this is prime material for the DeepINTEL conference.

Code-wise, we have seen a lot of broken applications in the past year. Web applications are still a zoo of workaround to make the file transfer protocol devised at CERN usable for Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). If you have worked on security vulnerabilities and have helpful hints for developers, then consider telling us via your presentation at DeepSec.

Critical infrastructure is always a popular issue in IT security. Given the brutal Russian invasion in Ukraine, a lot of European countries revisit the state of their critical infrastructure. Let’s go beyond Shodan.io results and discuss how security experts can help operators of critical infrastructure. You will find open ears and eyes at both DeepINTEL and DeepSec!
